Since when was history this sexy?
Natalie Portman is fantastic in this film as Anne Boleyn. She seems as determined as her character. You get a real feel for the personality and fierceness of Anne. Scarlett Johansson is slightly less believable at times, struggling to be a modest beautiful girl and not a Hollywood screen siren. She sometimes seems at odds with her surroundings but works well opposite Eric Bana as Henry Tudor (although what good wouldn't throw herself into a kissing scene with him?) The violence and seediness that would have been rife at the time seem to be glossed over and the whole period given a Hollywood feel but its a very enjoyable film. Let the bodice ripping commence!
