The Birth Of The MCU

The MCU began in 2008 with Iron Man (starring Robert Downey Jr.), setting the foundations for what would grow to be a sprawling film series – including other heroes such as Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).

With all the pieces on the board, Thanos (known infamously as the Mad Titan) was ready to make his move in Avengers: Infinity War. His goal was to wipe out half of all life in the universe: ‘Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.’

Harnessing the power of the Stones with the Infinity Gauntlet, forged on the dying star of Nidavellir, Thanos managed to get his hand on all six stones. And with the snap of his fingers, half of all life perished in a cloud of dust.
