Twin Peaks is an American Mystery Horror Television series created by Mark Frost and David Lynch, that first aired in 1990.
The show is centred around a small town in Washington called Twin Peaks, near the Canadian border. The show begins with the discovery of the body of a murdered teenage girl named Laura Palmer.
The show follows the murder investigation led by FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, and the plot develops from being a murder-mystery, into being more of an examination of the sinister double lives that most of the townspeople live.
Twin Peaks was nominated for many Emmy Awards and other prizes, and the widespread success of the show led to the release of the 1992 feature film, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. The series also returned in 2017 after a long hiatus with Twin Peaks: The Return and Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series.
The original Twin peaks cast included Kyle MacLachlan as FBI Agent Dale Cooper, Michael Ontkean as the local Sheriff Harry S. Truman, Dana Ashbrook as Laura's boyfriend Bobby Briggs, and Lara Flynn Boyle as Laura's best friend Donna Hayward.
It is not surprising that the incredible cast, script and premise for the show has earned it many die-hard fans around the globe. The show was also named one of the 100 best shows in television history by Time magazine.
