MGS in a different genre

The all-time classic Tactical Espionage Action universe turns into a Hack'n'Slash Lightning Bolt Action game! At first some players/fans may be dissapointed, but as you'll get used to it and proceed through the game things turn out to be even more interesting! Unlike the classic Stealth tactics used in earlier MGS Series, you're using Raiden from MGS2 but this time as a fast and agile Cyborg Ninja fighting off the toughest enemies with just your blade! As you progress you'll also recieve various weapons throughout the field to get and extra edge in battle! It's not the best but it's also not a bad MGS game, it's just not the classic Stealth taste everyone got used to! It's still a good choice to have in your collection!!

Excelent

My favourite hack and slash. Perfect delivery time =D

Fun & frustrating

This could have been better if they had done more testing / feedback sessions and ironed out a few frustrating aspects, namely the way the game will reset the view so it ends up pointing you in completely the wrong direction and you have to guess where you enemy might be. There could have been a better way to block as there do seem to be spare, unused buttons during combat. Also, trying to get out of grabs requires you to swap hands as the stick they want you to waggle at an unnecessarily fast rate is under the left thumb which is never used like this in an other game. Apart from that, the game is fun and fast paced and I love being able to play as Grey Fox from MGS1 though it would've been so cool if they changed the voice and the cut scenes kept you as Grey Fox instead of switching back to Raiden - but that's the problem with pre-rendering I guess. All in all I'd recommend spending a tenner on this, especially if your a MGS fan and want to complete the collection.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

As a stand alone game away from the MGS games this isn't bad and will offer some excellent moments. Naturally, it looks incredible and is fairly easy to pick up and play. Make no mistake though, this should not be compared to the MGS games. Treat it more like a younger tear-away brother who refuses to conform but is still part of the family. Overall its a fine game, a little short but it will keep you entertained.

Cut, cut, cut...

Very good hack'n slash. Good story, graphics and game system. I must add that the translation (this is MULTI-5, if I remember correctly), in spanish is kinf of bad. Better to play with english subs. In the beginning I had my doubts but it is indeed a very entertaining game to play.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (Includes Cyborg Ninja DLC)

Funny, but you'll see that kojima didn't work on it

Flop or Not?

For a MGS fan this is not a good game. Indeed there's nothing of Solid in it. But, hey, this is PURE ACTION AND ADRENALINE. It'd be wrong, not to blame for the 6 hour~ story, but I wouldn't be honest if I'd say i had not have fun with it: Real Fun. Despite everything remember these good-buy-worth being features: -Something new, zandatsu and blade mod are stuff never seen before; -Hard times on higher difficulties, and more important, satisfaction; And last, but not least: -There's a bit of Kojima in it. I'm happy to bought it. (Psst: Hey it's an awesome price!)

Very good service

Very good product and very fast delivery. Highly recommended.

Baffling.

Some enjoyment to be held with the use of the sword and some of the fighting, I think my lack of background in these sorts of games means that the spikes in difficulty at times were just frustrating. I know these games have rubbish and meaningless plots (woo - double cross, oh no - shadowy government agencies) but does the main character have to be such a douche? Is it a contractual requirement?

Awesome!

Although this game wasn't entirely followed by Kojima, its story is acceptable and the game itself.... just awesome! You will face different situations and enemies, there are a lot of challanges and unlockables. Although I'm finishing it right now for the 6th time, I still feel the same emotions I felt the first time I played it! if you're a fan of swords, of Metal Gear saga and of great actions games, this is a must buy for you!
