LEGO Batman and LEGO Batman 2 are the incredibly fun action adventure video games developed by Traveller’s Tales (creators of the LEGO Star Wars games), and published by Warner Bros. The storylines are, as a first for the LEGO games, completely original and independent of any previous plot found within the Batman films. Instead, LEGO Batman takes inspiration from the original comic book character, as well as the LEGO Batman toy line.
LEGO Batman shows Batman and Robin doing what they do best: fighting crime and thwarting villains in the iconic Gotham City. Within the game, a few of Gotham’s most dangerous and mentally unstable criminals have escaped from Arkham Asylum, and are set on wreaking havoc and destruction within the city. These criminals have split up into three groups of five, each group with a mastermind leader, a multitude of thugs and henchmen, and each with their own vindictive plot to bring Gotham to its knees. The Riddler seeks the city savings in the Gotham Gold Reserves, Penguin plans to control the city with an army of remote-controlled penguin robots, and the Joker is plotting to blow up the cathedral and let loose his deadly laughing gas all across the city.
There are six acts within LEGO Batman. The first three acts allow you to play as the superheroes Batman and Robin, whereas the second three acts put you on the side of the baddies, allowing you play as the super villains. Batman and Robin have a host of super power suits that give each of them special superhero abilities; for example Robin has a magnetic suit that allows him to walk up metal walls, and Batman has a demolition suit that gives him the power to blow things up. The criminals also have their own super powers; for instance, Poison Ivy can make enemies sick with a kiss, and the Riddler can control Gotham civilians. This means that every character or suit you play or wear gives you brand new powers to explore and have fun with, making each act and adventure as exciting as the last.
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has Batman and Robin teaming up with the Justice League in order to take on the Joker, who has formed an alliance with the notorious criminal mastermind Lex Luthor. In order to give you a helping hand, DC Comic superheroes along the lines of Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman, will join forces with you in order to take down the super villains, and bring peace to Gotham once more. This introduces a whole new range of brand spanking new super powers for you to use and have fun with, including Superman’s heat vision, as well as new gadgets for Batman and Robin, such as a Hazard Cannon for Robin, and a Power Suit for Batman.
With LEGO Batman and LEGO Batman 2, you can enjoy a wide variety of fun, action, and puzzles with all of your favourite Batman and DC characters, as well as team up with a friend to play co-op and spread the fun around. Maybe not for 5years old non english speaking
Bought the game after my 5 years old son completed trial version 30th time. But after we got it he did not play it much. He and his sister played lego indiana jones a lot before and completed it. Maybe they will pick it up later. It is more of a grown up game, more mysteries than in Indiana Jones.

Phenomenal evolution of the LEGO games
Before I talk about the game I want to state that I am a bit fan of the lego games and have played almost all of them to date, and I am really sucked in by the whole premise of LEGO games. Lego Batman 2 is the lates in the evolution of LEGO games and the characters talk, which is a bit odd to start with, but the way its done makes it work and it just slots into the whole experience quite nicely. As the game is mostly set in Gotham City it's a Batman game, although it has such a variety of DC characters it could just as easily have been a Justice League driven game - but hey, that might be the 3rd installment. So the gameplay is setup the standard way, play the level in story mode & then free play it for collectibles - but the free roam encompasses the whole of Gotham City. And there's lots of stuff to do! With the collectibles dotted around the place you have so much fun just bashing about the city, especially wnen you get the flash and end up running at ridiculous speeds.. So yes, it's got the standard issue LEGO charms, builds nicely on the LEGO Harry Potter 2 formula of having huge areas to explore that aren't story line/free play linked, and is a really nice evolution of the franchise. And the Superman theme kicking in whenever you start flying with him is strangely cool too.

I bought this for my 9 year old son who is a Lego Video Game addict, my wife plays with him too. My son loves the different hero characters & all the usual smashing & crashing. He has not stopped playing it since it arrived & he excitedly shouts aloud when he wins a new superhero character. Hours of fun for all ages. Greeeeeeeeeat!

LEGO Batman is just fantastic, I've been a player of the Lego games for years and TT have excelled themselves this time. It's great for all ages and fun to play for the whole family.
