The combination of gyro sensors, a 1000 watt motor, and battery are housed under a visually appealing case, that has a handle for easy carrying. Externally, the Solowheel consists of a wheel and two foot platforms. The gyro-sensor inside the Solowheel detects angle changes to maintain balance. Lean forward to go forward, and backwards when you want to slow down or stop. You can ride for 12 miles at 12 miles per hour and the lithium-ion battery can be fully recharged in approx 45-60 minutes. Like Hybrid cars, the battery recaptures energy when going downhill or slowing down.
