As Captain of the smuggling ship  Millennium Falcon, Han Solo and  his co-pilot and first mate  Chewbacca traveled from one end of the galaxy to the other in an attempt to make ends meet.  Forced to dump a shipment  before being boarded by an Imperial  patrol,  they angered the crime lord Jabba the Hutt and Han Solo found himself with a price on his head.  When a mysterious old man and a young farmboy from the planet Tatooine booked passage to the Alderaan system, Han and Chewie thought their money problems were over, little suspecting that they would be drawn into the conflict between the Empire and a fledgling Rebellion, a conflict during which they would become heroes of the Rebellion and later the New Republic.
