The timeless RPG title Tales of the Abyss from the renowned Tales of series is coming to Europe and EMEA for the first time on Nintendo 3DS.
Tales of the Abyss was first released on PlayStation® 2 in Japan in 2005, followed by a US release in 2006. Tales of the Abyss for Nintendo 3DS is an adaptation of the PS®2 title for the 3DS handheld system and the first time the title has been available in Europe. In Tales of the Abyss, the player can move freely around enemies creating faster-paced combat. It offers a rich and complex scenario in a fantasy setting with anime-inspired characters designed by the mangaka Kosuke Fujishima.
Luke fon Fabre, sole heir to a family of aristocrats, was kidnapped seven years ago, and the shock left him with no memories of his life before. For his own protection since his return, he has been confined to a quiet, boring life within the family's residence, learning little of the world beyond the palace walls. Luke is suddenly thrust into the outside world, caught in the workings of the Order of Lorelei, keepers of the prophecy known as the Score. No longer in the shelter of the palace, Luke must get along in the confusing and often hostile world. He knows nothing about those who might be his friends, or those who already are his enemies. Alone, naive, and spoiled, Luke must learn of friendship and sacrifice, of duty and choice, of what is written and what will be. The world collapsing around him, Luke's actions could save the world or destroy it.

Tales of Abyss is a very good game, with over 40 hours of game play. It's one of the best JRPG games on 3DS.
Great version of the original Tales of The Abyss DS game. Great JRPG but with poor 3D effect, in English.
An excellent game to discover for people who didn't have the chance to play it on ps2. The story is a little bit complicated but the fighting system is well thought out.
Tales of The Abyss is an amazing game, and definitely worth a purchase. You can't beat the value that this game offers. It has very fun game play and good characters.
I really enjoyed Tales of The Abyss. Although it's been around for a couple of years, I never had a chance to play it until this port. The plot was excellent, and if I didn't know that this was an older game, I wouldn't have guessed. The plot feels fresh and relevant. I enjoyed the 3D effect even though some elements don't stick out enough. It was still much better than what I expected.
Tales of The Abyss is a very good game. This is my first venture into the "Tales" series and it makes me want to get the rest. It's excellent on the 3DS XL.
In all the JRPGs I've played, none has captivated me as much as Tales of the Abyss. I've yet to see another game that creates such a solid world and history, and such relate-able and well-written characters. I've waited three years since watching the anime adaptation to play this game (the first not being released in the PAL region). I bought a 3DS console solely for it, and it was worth every minute of that wait.
I never got round to playing Tales of the Abyss on the PS2 since that was never released in Europe. However, this was definitely worth the wait. It's one of the best games in the Tales series, and is a must have for RPG enthusiasts.
Tales of The Abyss is the title that made me decide to buy a 3DS XL. RPG fans will find a great new title in this saga. Have a nice play.
Abyss is one of the highlights in the Tales series, a solid story with plenty of room for exploring each character if you want to. Highly recommended for those in need of a great JRPG and never played the original version on the PlayStation 2.
