Back to the future (Part 2) is one of those films franchises where there has been multiple releases. Yeah, it is true that there is now not many extras that they can bolt on to the discs. There are only so many extras, like photos and prop replicas, that Universal can add. So if you don’t have the films in glorious 4K, it’s worth it. It is understandable if you choose to just get the first film, as I have friends who only enjoy watching the first one. . Now, if you’re like me and already have various anniversaries then no doubt you’ll have doubts. Why did I buy the Back to the Future? I have most of the extras and so that wasn’t what drew me to this release. Quite simply the artwork is stunning. The front cover is lovely. Capturing the essence of the original cinema poster with Marty and Doc in their 2015 attire. Then there is an eclectic mix of references to the first film, on the inside. The back is adorned with characters and moments from the film. It’s good that the focus is the cover. Is it worth the high price? That’s a difficult one. I have no doubt there will be other release. 50th anniversary would be a guarantee, but I will cross that bridge when I come to it. For now I will enjoy peak cinema in glorious 4k. The average film fan wouldn’t be bothered by multiple release, but true film fans will love this steelbook.
Ordered the complete trilogy of the 4K Steelbooks and they are amazing, highly recommdend these.
