Fox and Christopher Lloyd are joined by Oscar® winner Mary Steenburgen* in this rousing, full-throttle conclusion to the epic time-travelling adventure trilogy. Fulfilling a long-time fantasy, Doc Brown has decided to live in the Old West of the 1880s. But when he’s in danger of meeting an untimely end, Marty travels back into the past to rescue him. There’s just one problem: Doc is so smitten by school teacher Clara Clayton (Steenburgen) that he’s become a little... distracted. Now it’s up to Marty to keep Doc out of trouble, get the DeLorean running, and put the past and future on track so they can all get back to where - and when - they belong! 40th rerelease of Part 3. Even Mad Dog Tannen would love this!

Back to the future (Part 3) is one of those film franchises where there has been multiple releases. Yeah, it is true that there is now not many extras that they can bolt on to the discs. There are only so many extras, like photos and prop replicas, that Universal can add. So if you don’t have the films in glorious 4K, it’s worth it. It is understandable if you choose to just get the first film, as I have friends who only enjoy watching the first one. . Now, if you’re like me and already have various anniversaries then no doubt you’ll have doubts. Why did I buy the Back to the Future Part 3? I have most of the extras and so that wasn’t what drew me to this release. Quite simply the artwork is stunning. The front cover is lovely. Capturing the essence of the original cinema poster with Marty, Doc and Clara in their Wild West/1885 attire. Then there is an eclectic mix of references to the first film, on the inside. The back is adorned with characters and moments from the film. It’s good that the focus is the cover. Is it worth the high price? That’s a difficult one. I have no doubt there will be other release. 50th anniversary would be a guarantee, but I will cross that bridge when I come to it. For now I will enjoy peak cinema in glorious 4k. The average film fan wouldn’t be bothered by multiple release, but true film fans will love this steelbook. There are a few extras that other releases do not have. If you have the original 40th anniversary release, then this is a solid buy. The vibrant colours and artwork is an easy buy. All three steelbooks next to each other, are glorious.
