I love this film! Oldman gives the best Dracula performance thus far! Fantastic 4K transfer. Well worth the purchase!

Bonkers but brilliant

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

First off, the 4K quality. I’ve never seen the Blu-ray of this, and it obviously can’t match more recent movies, but it nevertheless looks great. The movie itself - made using old fashioned special effects, probably more in keeping with the early days of cinema, over (then) modern techniques, gives the film an unusual look - these are very obviously models/miniatures/studio sets - but somehow it works. It’s all fairly over the top, and some of the intended shocks are more funny than scary, but again, it just seems right. There is the inevitable blood but not masses. It’s not a modern take on the story with gore galore. It’s just two hours of entertainment, highly recommended.
