Recycle old editions?

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This Edition, just like American werewolf in London, has been release previously on Blu-Ray. You would think Arrow would differentiate between the Blu-Ray and 4K edition. If You previously have purchased the Blu-Ray edition, I would advise waiting for the standard 4K release of this title. Do not encourage this type of laziness. Agree?

Bought as a gift for my fiancé as it’s his favourite film. He loved it. Said the quality is outstanding. Sound is terrific and the additional content is really good. He gives it 10/10

Another excellent arrow release

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Arrow have done it again, a small well contained box with a nice set of cards, poster and book with loads of information in it, as a fan for years I still learnt new things reading the accompanying booklet. The film comes in two versions the directors and theatrical release, which is mainly about violence cuts, no narrative changes. The remaster to 4K is well done except on some of the added scenes where there is a noticeable drop which I would say is down to the source material. They have also done a Dolby atmos track which can’t have been easy. While it does sound very good, don’t expect the uppers to be that active. A clean well presented collators piece that I am happy to add to my arrow collection.

I’ve owned the Japanese Director’s cut DVD release for years but just couldn’t pass this up now it’s available on 4K. I’m pleased to say it was worth holding out for a release like this as it’s the best it’s ever looked. This is my first Arrow Films purchase and certainly won’t be my last.

(Not so) Special Features, (Not so) Limited Edition

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Like with many 4K releases nowadays. You get nothing new for special features. Compare this with the Limited Blu-Ray edition and You will find nothing has altered apart from getting a 4K Disc. Arrow has a cheek to call this Limited edition, when this edition has been previously released. 4K does not alter this fact. Agree?
