Unfortunately I have missed this film in the cinemas, but this transfer is definitely an upgrade on the Netflix-streamed version I saw 😃 Loaded with extras. A: 7; V: 7. If there's a multibuy deal on, I would recommend buying it.
I think this film is real good fun and something different to your normal superhero/supervillain film. Memorable performance by Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock AND Venom, brilliant action sequences spaced throughout and good pacing to the film. The 4K has deep inky blacks (which is needed for Venom!), great sound and nice uptick in detail compared to the blu-ray.
Put the 4k in and thought, it looks a little dull and not as detailed as I expected. I took it out and put the normal Blu-ray in and this had brighter colours and was just about as detailed. Maybe this is because of upscaling? But surely the 4k should be as vivid. Bought 3 4k at once. One good, one bad, one ok. Don't think I'll bother with the 4k anymore as the upscaled Blu-ray seems to be just about as good. The five star is for the film as unlike most I really enjoyed it. The 4k gets 2 :(
Fun and entertaining movie, as much a black comedy as comic book adaptation. 4k presentation is excellent, bothe picture and sound.
