Inspired by an amazing true story "Dolphin Tale" is a film about "Winter", a rescued dolphin who has lost her tail in a crab trap, and Sawyer, the 11-year old boy who helps save her life.

Sawyer meets her at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, a marine sanctuary where she lives, and rallies friends and family alike to save Winter by convincing a pioneering doctor to create a brand new tail and by raising enough money to save the sanctuary from closing.

Dolphin Tale has a great cast including Morgan Freeman, Harry Connick Jr, and Ashley Judd alongside many wonderful animals. But the real star is Winter, who plays herself in the film, and today serves as a symbol of courage, perseverance and hope to millions of people.

Dolphin Tale

This is a very heart warming film based on real life events that will appeal to all in the family, young and old. Basically it follows the fate of a young Dolphin (later to be called Winter) that gets washed ashore and trapped in fisherman's nets. A young boy on his way to school finds himself getting involved with the young Dolphin who seems to form an instant bond with the boy, a bond that continues throughout and playing a major part in the lives of both the boy and Dolphin. Further scenes are included on the Blu-ray disc which are interesting to watch. A bonus too, is that you will find a website address that takes you to winter's home and you can watch live, streamed footage of one of America's treasures. I hope this helps for those thinking of buying this compelling and mind provoking film. You will not be disappointed.
