Considered unfilmable for decades, Hunter S. Thompson's literary landmark of psychedelic excess finally met its cinematic match in anarchic visionary director Terry Gilliam (Twelve Monkeys) and two no-holds-barred star performances by Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro.
Raoul Duke (Depp) and his volatile Samoan attorney Dr. Gonzo (del Toro) are en route to Las Vegas, ostensibly on a banal journalistic assignment, but the suitcase full of psychoactive narcotics in their possession tells another story. Beset by bats, horny lizards and runaway hotel carpet upon their arrival, the pair plunge deeper into the pharmaceutically enhanced neon underbelly of the City of Sin on a chemically charged savage journey to the heart of the American Dream.
Flashback to Gilliam and Thompson's trip of a lifetime with this 4K restoration, accompanied by an outstanding selection of bonus material delving into the history of the film and the original book.

Fantastic restoration on the dvd, Received very fast and in perfect condition, would highly recommend.
Although not everyones cup of tea fear and loathing is extremely well made and acted. The combination of Johnny Depp and Terry Gilliam make this fantastic story come to life. The book originally was classed as unfilmable but with the imagination of these 2 it's brought to life spectaculary. Not enough films like this these days
Have you seen my golf shoes. Epic movie and services from zavvi good job
Anything you say about Terry Gilliam might be true. He's a true visionary, always has been. This edition of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas has awaken my love for Terry's art again. I feel the need to collect every last bit of hist work now. The quality of the picture, so acid-like, so dreamy, compared to the poor old DVD is incomparable. Just like Time Bandits from Arrow, the picture is crisp, stunning, the sound deepens the experience and the special features finally told me things I wanted and needed to know. I've been holding on for a long time before buying it, but I'm really glad I bought it FINALLY. And now I can tell I'm gonna buy every last film by Terry very soon.
