In German-occupied France, Shosanna Dreyfus witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa. Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema. Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as "The Basterds," Raine's squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. The always outrageous Quentin Tarantino crafts a fantastically over the top WWII revenge film starring the Basterds - a group of Nazi-hunting Jews attempting to turn the tables on Hitler. Tarantino once again demonstrates his mastery over film and film form. Inglourious Basterds is not his best, but it's still a very good film and well worth watching.
The picture quality is top notch and the sound fidelity is excellent. There are a range of extras - including a roundtable with Tarantino and Pitt, and a 'full-length' version of the B&W sniper film that we see snippets of during the main feature.
