An age-old war is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the long-banished giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Nicholas Hoult), into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend... and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Jack The Giant Slayer 3D

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

A modern, clever spin on the classic story, not trying too hard, subtle humour, well cast, a real treat at just under 2 hours, a well known story brought to life in a suspenseful way. Thoroughly enjoyed it, also the extra disc with all the behind-the-scenes stuff. Didn't like that the giants all had Irish accents but all-in-all I thought it was brilliant adventure, fun for all the family.

Jack The Giant Slayer 3D (Includes 2D Version and UltraViolet Copy) is the remake of an old fairy tale. Bewitched beans, giants, a princess, all the ingredients are there for a nice story. The giants are computerised designs and actually I was disappointed in the part they played in the story. It was almost like they had no soul. Some parts wear hilarious. The 3D was poor, so much more could have been done. There were no duck away moments, although the giants have axes and spears etc. I wouldn't buy the movie again.
