Excellent horror/doc hybrid

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Australia has become the home to some really great horror films of the past and this underappreciated, lesser seen gem of a film adds to that cannon of cinema. Constructed like a documentary and using home/found footage to support the twisting narrative, Lake Mungo not only has twists you can’t see coming but an unsettling tone that buries itself deep under your skin. This set from the ever might Second Sight does justice to a film that deserves a fanfare like this. Watch, absorb, scare yourself silly
