Crime, chaos and humour collide in this wildly entertaining Liverpool caper.

 After five years away from the city she once called home, Clara Reynolds (Sarah-Louise Chadwick) returns to Liverpool at the request of her estranged gangster father Gerry (Joe McGann). Facing terminal illness, Gerry wants Clara to help manage the family business before it is too late. But her unexpected return sparks jealousy in her fiercely loyal younger sister Danika (Sophia Leanne Kelly), who has no intention of sharing the empire she believes should be hers alone.

 As tensions rise within the family, Danika takes drastic action and hires the unpredictable assassin Rosie (Alina Allison) to eliminate her rival. Meanwhile Clara finds herself drawn into the orbit of Max, the eccentric leader of a gang of post office robbers who commit their crimes dressed as colourful animals.

 The result is a chaotic collision of gangsters, hired killers and masked robbers across the streets of Liverpool.

 Directed by Mike Clarke (A Light Through Coloured Glass), Semolina Pilchard is a madcap crime comedy packed with sharp Scouse humour, colourful characters and a fantastic soundtrack. The title itself is lifted from the classic Beatles song I Am the Walrus, and the film playfully hides several Easter eggs for fans of Liverpool’s most famous band. The film also features a terrific ensemble of familiar British faces including Ricky Tomlinson, Jack Ryder, James Dreyfus, Tina Malone and Joe Egan.
