superb film, slightly disappointing steelbook

What a great shark film. Best since the first "Jaws". The shark itself is very scarily realistic for much of the film (up until slightly silly but enjoyable nonetheless ending). Decent performance by Blake Lively. Steelbook is brilliant but I felt the plastic outside cover could have been a bit less tacky and falls off too easily which is a bit of a shame.

Not so shallow after all...

At last a very decent entry to the shark film phenomenon spawned by Jaws some 40 years ago. Blake Lively is extremely likeable and believable as the films protagonist, you live the fight with her from that first bite. Much like the better shark flicks you don’t have a huge body count which gives a refreshing sense of credibility to the story. The CGI shark is almost perfect, the lingering overhead shots particularly provide a real sense of menace as it circles the injured Blake on her rocky refuge which is as the title suggests is so very tantalisingly close to shore…

It's the best shark since Jaws and that's all I can said.
