Director Seijun Suzuki's onslaught of stylized violence and trippy colours is equal parts Russ Meyer, Samuel Fuller, and Nagisa Oshima – an anything‐goes, in‐your‐face rampage. Tokyo Drifter is a delirious highlight of the brilliantly excessive Japanese cinema of the sixties.
