Whiplash - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook

Damien Chazelle, a young-looking 30 year old director, with one feature film and a few screenplay credits to his name, has delivered perhaps the most gripping film of the year. When telling other about the plot, you realize that, on paper, the plot seems very simple, plain, and perhaps even unoriginal. But you MUST convince everyone to see this film. There was no other like it this year, or in a long time. The raw power and emotion given off not just by the characters, but by the film itself, is incredible. If you STILL aren't sure about whether you should see this film, think about this. No other films leaves you utterly breathless at the end of this film. The energy this film evokes is so strong that at the end you want to physically exclaim or gasp, but you cant't speak it was so strong. This film is incredible, best of the year. See it.

Very beautiful steelbook, great edition, many special features. And of course escellent movie

A seemingly inconspicuous film about Jazz drumming is something that any aspiring film maker should see. The power that the director gets out if his cast had me on the edge of my seat and by the end of it was I who wanted to be part of J.K Simmon's jazz group.

This film was incredible i didn't really no what to expect a film about a young drummer looking to impress his teacher and get in the top jazz band. Hmm does not sound amazing, bu it is you are gripped form start to finish. a Oscar worthy performance by JK Simmons leaves you asking questions about if you should like his character or not a bully or a genius. anyway should you buy this film yes yes yes best film of the year in my eyes.

Took a little long to get to Canada but.... that price is VERY much my tempo. Blu-ray works, steelbook looks amazing.... Not much else to say, really. Perfect!

Great movie, one of my favorites from 2014. The artwork on this steelbook looks incredible. There was one tiny scratch in the case. But overall, great purchase!

The movie is brilliant and what a stunning steelbook simple design but oh i love this one ,if you are a serious collector or just like this movie you will want this one in your collection ,well done Zavvi more steelbooks like this please a lot of them are boring and dull.Oh and check out Tears of the Sun it,s beautiful

This steelbook was designed with a unique and eye-catching image of singular focus, evocative of the subject matter of the movie contained within. The cymbal is particularly well-portrayed by the metal cover of the steelbook. The inner art is additionally excellent, portraying the main characters interacting in a manner which captures the atmosphere of the movie. The BD itself is region A/B/C and plays in my North American PS3.

Fascinating movie, with stellar performances from Miles Teller and J. K. Simmons. The amount of tension and thriller like atmosphere the director is able to pull out of what is basically band practice is phenomenal. The dynamic between the characters is really interesting. Miles Teller is reminding me again he's one of the top young rising actors. I felt his performance deserved an Oscar nomination; though J. K. Simmons was definitely deserving of his nomination, he had the more "showy" role.
