Sam Mendes directs this comedy drama scripted by husband-and-wife writers Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida. An unmarried couple in their 30s, Burt (John Krasinski) and Verona (Maya Rudolph), are expecting their first child. They live near Burt's parents, Jerry (Jeff Daniels) and Gloria (Catherine O'Hara), and hope that once the baby is born they will enjoy the proximity and support of its doting grandparents. When they discover that Jerry and Gloria have other plans and are shortly jetting off to live in Europe, Burt and Verona set off on their own voyage of discovery across America, looking for somewhere suitable to settle down and bring up their children. Along the way they re-connect with old friends and relatives, and do what they can to glean some inspiration from the various family models and situations they encounter.

This is what I call my Friday night movie ! after a hard week there is nothing better than getting home, ordering a take away, putting on your comfy slouching clothes and flaking out on the sofa with a really good easy on the brain movie. This is about a couple in their mid 30's, when she gets pregnant they realise their life is directionless and don't know what to do. Their parents deliver the blow that they are uping sticks and moving to Belgium. They decide there is nothing keeping them where they live, so randomly they pick several places in America to move too in a bid to lay down some roots of their own. Unsurprisingly they eventually come to the conclusion that home is where their heart was and return back to square one. This is an easy on the eye and brain film, it's as sweet as sugar and well worth watching.
