Darker than Black is a dark anime in a not-so-far-away-future. In a urban setting where hidden for regular humans so called contractors live. After a science incident, people with strange powers appeared. But they cant just use them. As the name say, its a contract. If they use their abilities, the have to be paid. The contract payment is pretty random, going from drowning alive or swallowing cigars to just eating a burger. Darker than Black is mostly episodic, but having the main storyline hanging around in the back, till its finally come out in the later episodes. Till then we get cool stories out of the world and our melancholic assassin and protagonist Hei. If you like over natural powers in modern settings and dark atmosphere, then Darker than Black is worth the price for you.
