Julian Fellowes' hit drama Downton Abbey returns for a second series with all the regular cast including Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt and Dan Stevens. Returning to Downton Abbey in 1916, we see the effects of The First World War on the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who work for them.
The new series sees the return of all the much loved characters whose intertwined lives are rendered more complicated by wartime and its impact on the great house itself. And when the storms of war have finally cleared, will the way of life known by all the inhabitants of Downton have changed forever?

Downton Abbey - Series 2 8 is really good and enjoyable.
I am a late-comer to the Downton Abbey series and enjoyed the first series immensely. However, the Series 2, far surpasses the first and watching it has been a source of great joy. The writing is of a superb quality and is matched by an incomparable cast. There is hardly a weak link in the whole cast and I compliment everybody concerned. It's a great example of British quality and I am so pleased that I bought it.

Absolutely delighted with my purchase, I bought it as a Christmas present for my mum but have watched the series completely myself before wrapping it and placing it under the tree - irresistible!
I'd heard in the media that the second series of period drama Downton Abbey was not up to the standard of the first series. How wrong those reports were. Series 2 shows the horrors of war of those left behind and those who were lucky enough to return from the front. Built with a little humour, surprise, fear, romance and a cliffhanger that will leave fans waiting for the third series to become available.
Brilliant, great follow-up with a story line that grips by all members of the cast. Don`t miss the one liners by Maggie Smith.
Downton Abbey has excellent acting and a great series which is remiscent of past series in Television. Our TV programmes these days do not produce enough of these type of programmes. It is time to go back to the basics and get back to why TV was invented in the first place, that is to bring top proffessional entertainment into our lounge rooms. Downton Abbey does this please give us more of this type of TV content.
