The man with the patch is back. Call him Snake. Kurt Russell rejoins filmmakers John Carpenter and Debra Hill to do to the Big Orange what they did to the Big Apple in Escape From New York - with even more futuristic thrills and slam-bang action! Into the 9.6-quaked Los Angeles of 2013 comes Snake Plissken (Russell). His job: wade through L.A.'s ruined landmarks to retrieve a doomsday device. Don't miss the excitement as Snake surfs Wilshire Blvd., shoots hoops at the Coliseum, dive bombs the Happy Kingdom theme park, and mixes it up with a wild assortment of friends, fiends and foes (Stacy Keach, Steve Buschemi, Peter Fonda, George Corraface, Cliff Robertson, Pam Grier and more). Escape From L.A., is a 'go-for-broke action extravaganza!' - Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times.

Classic Carpenter

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This movie was made after the Cult Classic Escape from New York, and I think it is not less entertaining, however the story is the same. The visual effects were cool, when the movie was released, nowadays they seem a little bit funny. Overall it's worth watching, if you want to get real carpenter style, working alone, tough guy superhero action. If you imagine this as a comic book, you will see, that it is a masterpiece. This edition sounds good, and the picture is nice as well, no extras, and amaray case. Since I'm a fan of these old movies, i would prefer a more special packaging (steelbook in comic stlyle, or packed with a Snake Plissken action figure etc), but of course, this is ok as well. If you buy it and watch it, bare in mind that it was made in 1995, and you won't get disappointed.
