Created by world-famous director J. J. Abrams (Star Trek, Lost), Fringe has become a cult hit and inspired a comic book series and an alternate reality game. The series follows the "Fringe Division" of the FBI and Homeland Security, who are tasked with investigating strange and inexplicable mysteries that reference a parallel universe.
This fifth and final series starts in 2036, where watchers from far within the future have travelled to 2015 after having ruined earth in their own time. They have systematically killed a large amount of the human race in an event called 'the purge', and begun to subjugate the remaining population. Having miraculously hidden themselves away, the Fring Team must reunite and figure out a way to turn back time and save the earth.

Well I must admit I'm a latecomer to the Fringe universe, in fact I'd totally missed it on tv and then became hooked thanks to a chance encounter on netflix. However, at present the final season (season 5) is only available on DVD and so I had to buy the box set to see how the team saved the universe /universes. Season 5 is shorter than the previous series, at only 13 episodes in total, and has more of a concentrated story arc than usual, however, if you reached the end of season 4 then you'll need to see how the story finishes and whether Walter truely finds redemption. I've got to say I enjoyed the whole experience immensely and as usual Zavvi's price and delivery were second to none.

The final season to a great series, sad to see it end but what a ride. If you haven't seen it and love sci-fi, i'd say get the series as its easy to watch over & over again. Packed with great stories & action.
Wow. What an excellent series this has been and this is the final one. Too many series don't finish and get 'cut' before the end. Not this one, they have a beginning and the themes follow through to the ending. If this becomes a complete box set the word complete is justified. I cannot praise this series enough, it takes the viewer on a roller coaster ride with some challenging theories along the way. If you have not seen all the previous series then get them. Series five brings all the previous themes together and gives answers. I can't recommend enough.
The first season of Fringe was very promising. Fantasy / Scifi series come and go but this was something new. The series ends with fifth season and for me, it has gone too far from where it all started. Too dark, even. It is very challenging with all the alternative timelines and Observers. Yet it holds your attention until the very end with "What, this was it?"
Fringe - Season 5 is great. Every episode keeps you on your feet from start to finish. Seasons one to five are out of this world.
