The mid noughties were all about penguins, and 2006 saw Happy Feet win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Voiced by an all-star cast including Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman and Hugo Weaving, it's the tale of an all-singing colony of penguins who win the hearts of their mates by singing a "heart song." Tone deaf Mumble (voiced by Elijah Wood) is misunderstood, lonely and unable to sing to his beau of choice, Gloria (Murphy). However, Mumble can dance....

Mumble's story of acceptance is interwined with an environmental message about overfishing in the Antarctic as the penguins try to communicate with humans to instigate a ban and help the fish population to recover.
