Red Dwarf is a comedy show set millions of years in the future, where a man named David Lister (played by Craig Charles) wakes up on a mining spaceship called Red Dwarf after 3 million years asleep, only to find that the entire human race has died out, leaving him as the only survivor. The only company he has is a felinelike human known only as Cat, evolved from a pregnant cat Lister smuggled aboard the ship three million years ago, and a hologram of Lister's dead bunk mate.

I love this show finally got a copy of my own but a bit annoyed how hard to seems to be to track down Season IX. The earlier seasons were best though I liked Season 8 too.
Fantastic show, every episode is it original long, not 24 minute!
You cant do better with PRICE, QUALITY , SERVICE & THE "Red Dwarf BOX SET" I totaly recomend this to you & yours

Outstanding comedy at it's very best.
"You've got to be joking. You surely can't expect me to watch that load of rubbish!" she exclaimed. But watch she did (if just to humour me) and after the first episode, 'she who must be obeyed' watched another, then another and, eventually, was baying for more. Once she accepted that millions of years in the future, a spaceship containing four characters, of whom only one will be a genuine human (and hardly one at that), will crisscross the universe with no apparent purpose other than to amuse a multitude of devotees, the rest of it becomes easy to believe. To do so, however, requires a flexible mind, as the rules of physics are toyed with constantly by parallel universes, time travel and the like. However, in little time, the viewer not only accepts the plausibility of the scientific interpretations, but realises there can be no other logical explanations than those expounded. This is brilliant stuff-a little cultish, but uproariously funny- and it should be taught in schools as scientific fact. To say much more than the above would be unfair to our intrepid band of space adventurers. Viewers should check Red Dwarf for themselves, but only if they want to be thoroughly entertained. It will appeal to those who want a good belly laugh rather than those with a passion for the futuristic. As for my wife and me, we have just upgraded from our video copies to the DVD format. It's now time for a little Red Dwarf revision by us - perhaps it's time for you to discover a funny, brilliantly written spoof of the space travel genre.
Brilliant DVD! This is a must for any Red Dwarf fans. I can't wait to sit down and watch them all!

This is an absolute bargain way to own one of Britain's greatest sitcoms. Red Dwarf featured superb acting, innovative direction and very clever and funny writing from Rob Grant and Doug Naylor. The last 2 series, made after the writing partnership had split up, are not up to the same standard but are watchable nevertheless.
