have enjoyed all 3 seasons, looking foreward to number 4
This season doens't reach the quality of the first two seasons. However, it is still a very good season!
A great pack at a geat price
Although I didn't enjoy these episodes as much as the previous 2 series, it was still very watchable and left me looking forward to more when it ended.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman play together so well. For example I loved the scene in the second episode of the season where Dr Watson tries to ask Sherlock for his best man - the oh so clever and brilliant Consulting detective doesn't get the hang of the fact that he is Watson's best friend. Mark Gatiss also performs with great finesse as Mycroft. Now that we know who the main characters are we get to see them in-depth. The series isn't the easiest - there is so much going on during every 1,5 hour long episode that it's almost breath-taking. Once again we have an enigmatic bad guy and a cliffhanger - something to look forward, soon I hope.
Brilliant drama with a quality cast. Moving, thrilling, intriguing, intelligent and beautifully timed comedic moments all combine to make this third "series" as watchable as the first two. The soundtrack is wonderfully evocative too. Moffat and Gatiss are great at taking aspects of the original books and bringing them into the modern era whilst Cumberbatch and Freeman are able to convey a great deal of emotion with the smallest gesture. The included extras on the DVD set are an interesting addition plus I appreciate the addition of subtites for the hard of hearing. These DVDs go a long way into making up for my not being able to see them as they're originally broadcast on the BBC now I no longer live in the UK. How I miss watching advert free, quality drama.
I have enjoyed all the sherlock series since it was aired, so I just had to buy series 3, as I have the first and second series, the dvd contains all 3 episodes plus its extra and each episode is a thrill to watch.
