A year has passed since the official end to the hostilities of The Great War, yet one small independent state - the state of Latvia still finds itself under the threat of siege from two powerful empires. On one side are the Soviets, and on the other a renegade German unit that should have surrendered at the end of the War, but didn't. Together they amass a 50,000 strong army and descend upon the seemingly defenceless city. In this epic dramatization we witness the fearlessly brave, loyal and impassioned civilians collide with their far superior enemies, the highly trained and equipped forces of German and Russian mercenaries in their fierce and honourable battle for freedom.
