The New Avengers

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

In the mid-1970s, The New Avengers was the coolest British show on television, and this DVD brings back all the excitement of that time! Steed, looking as debonair as before, with his trusty team, Purdey & Gambit, take on and defeat each menace to British society as it presents itself. The playful interplay 'tween Gambit and Purdey amuses, even as they knock out potential killers. EXTRAS: The commentaries are interesting, and the remarks from Gareth Hunt (Gambit) are incisive and witty.
