Lego City: Undercover is the ingenious new open world action adventure game developed by Lego game veterans TT Fusion, and published by Warner Bros, released exclusively for the innovative Nintendo console the Wii U. This is the first Lego game title to not be based on a well known franchise such as Lego Batman, but instead has a completely unique storyline that anyone can enjoy.

This delightful and colourful sandbox-styled game revolves around our hero Chase McCain, an undercover cop that is out to stop the villainous Rex Fury and end his evil crime wave. You take on the role of McCain the police officer as you roam around the game world at will, either walking or driving, as you chase down various crooks, robbers, and villains. Follow missions and interact with civilians, as well as wear disguises such as a fire fighter, construction worker, and robber, each with their own special unique abilities that can help you solve puzzles, access new areas of the city, and complete missions.

Lego City: Undercover fully utilises the new and intuitive Wii U game controller, as the Game Pad has various features that enable you to catch crooks more easily. When driving or whilst in a high speed car chase gunning down some criminals, the Game Pad will show a map on the touch screen showing the direction that the villains are heading in, as well as a red dot marking their location in real time. As well as this, the player can also use the Game Pad as a Criminal Scanner, which will act as an x-ray to scan the environment around them searching for hidden suspects, which will glow red when you locate them.

This open world of Lego City is chock full of fun and mayhem, and focuses on the signature Lego gameplay of building and disassembling various objects in order to access other areas of the city. Take part in another humorous Lego adventure with the help of the innovative Wii U Game Pad, and bring Rex Fury to justice. (Cat Emerson)

Excellent Game

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This is a great Wii U exclusive title which plays similar to other 'Lego' games, i.e. Indiana Jones, Star Wars, etc. If you're a fan of those games, this one will be right up your alley. Even if you're not, this game is great fun for people of all ages. The storyline is fun (the humour is amazing at times), the graphics are good and the gameplay is thorougly enjoyable - plus, it's huge, so there is plenty to do! There are also many Nintendo cameos and references, great for Nintendo fans. It's basically GTA meets Lego. What's not to like? ...Okay, bad things. Unlike other Lego games, there's no Multiplayer at all. Not too bad though if you just think of it as a nice solo game. The only other complaint is the loading screens - many complain about these and they're not INCREDIBLY annoying but they do last a couple of minutes and you've got at least 2 every time you start the game up. However they do not take anything away from overall enjoyment of the game. Ultimately I am very happy I purchased this game.

Great game!

Lego City: Undercover is amazing! I've had so much fun on it after only a few hours of play. I've played a lot of the other Lego games such as Harry Pottter and the Lord of the Rings, but this one is by far the most enjoyable. It reminds me of Grand Theft Auto... but a child friendly version. Also, the Wii U makes gameplay really unique as the second screen acts as a sort of spy gadget and allows you to do all kinds of crazy things! This is a must buy for Wii U owners/Lego fans.

A big block world

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Lego City: Undercover - Limited Edition with Chase McCain Minifigure is a slight venture away from Lego's recent licensed endeavors, and instead drops players right into a vibrant open world filled with exaggerated characters and tonnes of collectibles. Whilst Lego City doesn't bring anything new to the table, it offers a fantastic gaming experience, the likes of which only the Lego games can provide.

Very funny Lego-Game, GTA-Style

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

In my opinion, Lego City: Undercover - Limited Edition with Chase McCain Minifigure is the best Lego game so far. You get a big city to explore with lots of sidequest and things to unlock. It's a very funny and entertaining story, and has lovely characters, although they are just Lego mini-figures. Overall, it is very easy to complete the story, but afterwards the real challenge of conquering the city and unlocking everything begins. It will take some time getting 100% completion.

Best wii u game so far!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Although games for the Wii U are few and far between, Lego City: Undercover is surprisingly brilliant. Between its comedic characters and addictive gameplay, it's one of the first must-have games for the platform.

Good clean fun for all ages

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Lego City: Undercover - Limited Edition with Chase McCain Minifigure is a lot different than the usual Lego games, being mostly based in small area levels. This time around they have created an open world so you can just do what you like. There are no restrictions, making it a lot easier for younger children to play. The game is massive and will keep you entertained for ages, collecting the different costumes along the way. The only minor fault is there is no multi-player like any other of the recent Lego games.

My son recently purchased Lego City: Undercover and he loves it. It has lots of missions to complete, with great humour and Lego in HD - what more could he ask for?
