The good thing about Star Trek TOS is that – apart from the sometimes varied plots of the episodes – you generally know what you are in for: the crew of the USS Enterprise faces certain annihilation, Spock analyses the situation calmly and Kirk goes in headfirst like the daredevil he is.
But sometimes, even onboard the most famous spaceship of all time, "Freaky Friday" is the name of the game, as the Star Trek Bobbleheads "Kirk vs. Spock" show. This diorama recreates the epic battle between the captain and his officer from the fan-favourite Amok Time (season 2, episode 5). Compelled by raging hormones, the Vulcan literally goes amok and has to return to his home planet. There, the two former brothers in arms face off in a duel to the death. Why? Well, why not?!
To allow you to really feel the battle, the diorama will even play the original fight music at the press of a button! Don't worry, we won't reveal how the fight ends. After all, there are, supposedly, still people who haven't watched Star Trek!

First bobble heads I received, the Kirk figure had snapped off from the base, but those lovely Zavvi people sent me a new one, which was intact. Be warned that the figures are quite top heavy and only have teeny tootsies to take their big headed weight, so be gentle. Aside from all that, I think they're great, the likenesses are spot on - Spock looks suitably troubled and Kirk his usual heroic self, complete with a torn top! The battle music from the episode is a massive bonus and to watch them wobbling away, virtually nose to nose, with the accompanying sound is spectacular. At least I think so. The rest of the family, not so much. Little things huh...
