Ryse: Son of Rome

Looks nice, well voiced pretty fun. However, limited play style means it gets repetitive pretty quickly. Overall good, but I'm glad I got it in a deal.

Amazing but repetitive

Graphics are amazing, and the story is good, Ryse could be a "killerapp", but the game is a little bit repetitive.

Good game doesn't outstay its welcome

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was quite surprised by this game, after reading a few negative reviews. Its nothing new, but its a fun ride and looks great. Its quite a short game, took me about 7 - 8 hours to complete it. Its all about combat, and you'll be hacking and slashing limbs off left right and centre. There are plenty of new executions to learn/upgrade throughout the campaign. Timing is essential when fighting, you'll need to block incoming attacks, and strike with precision for maximum effect. I definitely recommend this game, its fun, easy to get into, and isn't too hard to master. The executions can be quite gruesome, earning it an 18 rating.

Best launch Title

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

For me it is the best Xbone launch game. It has great graphics and well executed combat mechanics. The story is very indulging but quite short (about 5 hrs), the gladiator mode (multiplayer) has great co-op aspects and i have not been able to stop playing it since it came out. Overall: Great
