One of the many excellent productions with which Michael Palin was associated in the 1980s. His mother lived at Southwold and the family always enjoyed this part of England to escape to from London for long and short breaks. Read about the production of the film and many others in Michael Palin's well illustrated diary 'Halfway to Hollywood', published last year. East of Ipswich is a fine example of how Palin's dazzling career progressed well beyond Monty Python and included so many different roles. And all this before he started his series of travel programmes for the BBC. Strongly recommended.
