A vastly underrated film that depicts the events leading up to what was known as Operation Market Garden during the latter stages of WW2.It was a failed attempt by the Allied command to end the war early in late 1944. As for the film itself,director Richard Attenborough manages to accurately portray events as they happened.There are some incredible aerial shots of the "Market" operation.Some great action sequences and a long list of big name movie stars such as Robert Redford,Sean Connery,Michael Caine and Gene Hackman.Although the acting plaudits go to Dirk Bogarde and especially Edward Fox (in a Bafta winning performance) who steals almost every scene. The blu Ray transfer is excellent with very little grain and a superb audio.Highly recommend.Although I would purchase the 2 disc dvd aswell for the extras.
