Sin Nombre is an excellent movie about the violent gangs in Southern America and the poor chances for the local youth (people) up there. It also features great acting and directing!
Sin Nombre is a great movie! Instant classic!
This is an entertaining and educational story of life and death in Central America. The anger, disappointment and anguish on the faces of many of the characters draws you into the cut throat world of gang violence. The film tells the tale of Hondurans seeking a more secure life in America crossed with a faction of a well connected gang when passing through Mexico. This is a well paced film where flashes of excitement intersperse a documentary style of filming that reveals its grounding in real life. For this, credit must be given to strong performances by the two main characters and, no doubt, good research. There is no moral crusade but you are treated to an insight into the tension between the constructive and damaging effects of survival of the fittest. For all that the story can be moving, this is not a film for a cosy romantic night in.
As you may have gathered from my title I really enjoyed this film. This was arguably the movie of 2009 and was brimming over with all the ingredients required for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Loaded with fast action, love, action, gangs, action, travel and even more action........The cast are brilliant and deliver mesmerising performances. The blu-ray is good delivering sharp images and deep colours, the audio and sound track draw you into the film cleverly and play out well in the HD format. I strongly encourage you to buy and watch ths one................
