They've done it again. Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass combine for explosive, entertaining, sharp war action. Matt Damon is extremely solid in his role as CWO Roy Miller. Damon's infinite charisma and commanding on screen presence do good for the movie, and the supporting cast (Greg Kinnear and the lesser known actors) deliver as well. Noteworthy performances all around. Greengrass' continues to use his hand-held camera technique, which has never bothered me. In fact, it places the viewer in the middle of the action far better than shaky 3D effects that you see today. As we've witnessed on the two Bourne movies, Greengrass has the know-how for action scenes. However, Green Zone isn't just a plain action movie. It keeps the action-junkies entertained, but doesn't alienate those interested in politics either. Overall, Green Zone is an action film that stimulates the viewer more than the average, and with a few spectacular scenes one worth remembering. Entertainment guaranteed.
People dissed this when it came out because it was Bourne in Iraq.... but who the hell doesn't want to see that? It's actually a BETTER film than that suggests, and I think it's on par with the third Bourne film, which was one of the best films of its year. It's an excellent movie through and through, exciting and brainy. SUPERB
Don't go into this film believing it is Bourne all over again, it's much more intellegent and topical (and easier to follow too). The action sequences are blended well with the political thriller aspects and the whole film is very exciting. Well worth a watch and highly recommended.
