Just after he stunned the world with "Halloween" Carpenter followed that success with two TV-movies. First "Someone's Watching Me!" with among others his soon to be bride: Adrienne Barbeau. A ver y good and scary one. Then this. A excellent portrait of a star, Elvis. Kurt Russell is perfect as the lead. Emmy-nominated of course. Also Golden globe-nominated in the category: Best Motion Picture Made for TV. The cast is overall in the class of an "real" movie. It was cut and shown in Europe that way. But here is the original. And not a minute to much. More than 2,5 h, but the time just flies away. A first but certainly not the last for Carpenter and Russell.
