If you love the X-Files, then you'll love Dark Skies, too, which is almost a precursor to the X-Files in content and format. It's a shame there was only one series, reflected in the sudden and unsatisfying last-episode ending. Even so, it's still a good watch. Tip: watch the pilot episode first (on the last disc!). It helps to make sense of the flashbacks used throughout the series.

I absolutely loved watching Dark Skies again. I was so chuffed with DVD release, after they cancelled VHS release 3 episodes in. I watched them all within 3 nights. I think it's a brilliant show, that wasn't really given a chance to fully develop. The characters and story show similarities with the X-Files, which was being made at same time, and I think that's what lowered it's reputation. I still highly recommend this collection, with the only flaw being that the pilot episode is stuck away on a final disc as a special feature, instead of being at the start.

Interesting take on events around and after the time of Kennedy's assassination and into the 1960s Cold War between the USSR and the Western Powers. Have so far watched the feature length pilot and three 50 minute episodes. The way it takes actual historical events and presents an alternative view of history is very clever. My only concern is that later episodes may become a little predictable, but I hope that I am proved wrong. In some ways, reminiscent of the 1970s series, The Invaders, but probably more realistic and sinister.

Ace series, one of the best recent American history re-writes! Well worth a watch!

I took this opportunity in buying this 'official version' after seeing one of the 'bootlegged' versions. This series is a classic science-fiction series which unfortunately finishes too soon in my opinion.

I've watched the first episode of Dark Skies and so far it has lingered on a bit, I hope the rest picks up soon, though you can't go wrong with the price.

Great series, loved watching this on TV years ago and it still holds its own now.

An excellent series, clever blend of history & science-fiction. Set in the 50s & 60s it mixes historical facts and alien invasion with a shadowy government agency cover up.

Dark Skies is a great series. Special effects a bit "iffy" but good storyline and acting. We are not alone! The answer is out there somewhere!
