Street Fighter X Tekken is the best fighting game.

Brilliant 5/5 stars

If you love your fighting games, then Street Fighter X Tekken needs to be in your collection, especially since it has the two best decorated fighting games actually fighting against each other, this version is for the people that prefer the Street Fighter engine which I like but I prefer the Tekken engine, so I can't wait for Tekken vs Street Fighter when that comes out.

Street Fighter X Tekken

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Being a fan of the Street Fighter and Tekken series, I am impressed with Capcoms outcome. It is a very good game, excellent graphics and the cross arts/tag combos are amazing. I thought the story mode could be improved as it there were only a few cut scenes and I would have liked to have seen more but none the less an excellent game, worth the money and play.

When worlds collide

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Finally I got my hands on Street Fighter X Tekken, the game that combines the two most popular beat em' up series ever in one game. I've played Tekken before (2, 3 and 6) but have alawys been more of a Street Fighter fan (played nearly all of them), so please take this into consideration while reading my review. First impression was pretty solid, there's a definite similarity in some points to Street Figther 4, which is not really surprising given the fact that Capcom developed this one. The whole game feels a bit like SF 4 with the addition of some adapted Tekken Characters. Since I've always been more of a SF than a Tekken fan, this is not really a concern to me. The Gem-System is still something I have to figure out entirely, but it gives the whole game a new depth. The new Gem-System allows you to boost your strength, speed, defense... by fulfilling specific tasks, e.g. landing a 4-Hit combo or blocking 5 strikes in a row. You can combine different gems, every fighter gets to carry two at a time with him that can be activated during the fight. A nice feature is the custom mode, where you can change the colors of every fighter entirely. What I find a bit disturbing is that you have to download the different color-sets and some outfits first. All in all it's a great game, a bit more for Street Fighter than for Tekken fans, but both will have their moments when playing against each other. I'm excited how Tekken X Street Fighter will come out. This one here rocks!

A refreshing title in the fighter genre

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This game is a breath of fresh air to the fighter genre, adding new mechanics like gems ( which are completely balanced) cross art combos which are a visual treat and very satisfying to pull off! The story is as you would expect for a fighting game, not in depth but its there. The real fun is in the multi-player, so many different combos it gives hours of fun!

Great, no brainer.

SFxTK isn't a technical type of game. The gameplay has been designed to allow everyone to play, by downplaying combos and allowing easier "special moves" and shortcuts. I will not say anything about the gems because I basically tend to ignore them. The game looks great, detailed environment with characters and references from other games, although a couple of the stages are annoying. The music, as usual with the recent capcom games, is pretty generic and tasteless. The character roster is pretty cool, and learning to play with tekken characters the capcom way is pretty fun. Playing against the computer is fun and will keep you going back for more. On the downside, online playing is not yet as good as SF4. The sound has issues and characters are FAR from balanced, which basically means the game is broken and needs to be fixed. Also, the additional content is not free but is on the disc, which is starting to annoy a lot of people. I guess a "final" version of the game will be released one year from now, fixed, and with all the DLC's. SFxTK is worth buying, it's definitely the fighting game of this spring, it's a party game, dynamic, fun, and lighthearted. But a couple of issues give the impression that the game was released in a hurry, and prevent it from being as great as KOF13 or SF3&4.

A fighting game for everyone...

If you like Street Fighter IV or are a fan of the Tekken series you will find a lot to enjoy here. The fighting is faster and flashier but also just as balanced and accurate. Fans of fighting games will love this, five stars.

good but perfectible

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Great for Street Fighter players, Tekken players will have to learn from the beginning to appreciate their favourite characters. A bad point is that Its impossible to play 2 players battles online, 1 player only, it should have been great to compete against teams all over the world with a friend at home.
