Upon recommendations I have recently bought this Blu Ray box set, not because its Limited Edition, not because it has special features but because the main feature itself had been highly recommended to myself. What had I been missing? Upon watching Band of Brothers, even the pilot episode oozes brilliance in almost every way, and yet normally you will find pilot episodes are low budget. The series is produced by renowned names such as Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, both known in relation to Hollywood blockbusters, but Saving Pvt Ryan sure does stand out from the crowd in comparison to Band of Brothers. They have taken expert knowledge, past experience to produce an epic series not to be missed. Each episode, 10 in total are very high quality, arguably better than most WWII movies that make the box office these days. The series revolves around 'Easy Company', a newly formed paratrooper regiment. Based on true accounts from the actual characters in the company, you will follow 'Easy Company' through their ordeal throughout the war effort. Its breathtaking stuff, and Damian Lewis (Homeland) provides an Oscar worthy performance. Watching the Band of Brothers on Blu Ray only made me appreciate it more, and engross myself more into the series itself with crisp picture quality and sound. If you have not seen this, if you have been recommended this, then please buy it. Its worthy of the highest recommendation I can offer, a must buy!

Band Of Brothers is the best TV film i have seen by far! Let me start with the Picture quality of the Blu-ray, put simply it looks excellent, not the best Blu-ray picture quality i have seen but it is much better then the standard DVD release. The Sound quality is what makes it for me, the lossless DTS-HD Master Audio sound is incredible, one of the best sound tracks i have heard on Blu-ray. You can notice on some action films the dialogue can be drowned out at times during explosions or gunfire but not in this, it is clear and crisp even in the loudest scenes, if you have a Blu-ray Surround Sound with DTS-HD Master Audio then this is a Must have Box Set. Directed by my favourite director 'steven Speilberg' and the great 'Tom Hanks'(could this have ever been made badly) combined they have created a wonderful insight to the paratroopers during D-day and their fight through Europe, for me it is one of the best (alongside Saving Private Ryan) films about the second world war in Europe and it really gives you an insight as to what they may have gone through. I own this Box set on DVD already but when i heard about this Blu-ray edition with its DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack i just had to buy it and if you havn't already then i suggest (if it is not on your christmas list already) you stop reading this and order it and with Zavvi's extremely reasonably price (cheaper than Amazon) i highly recommend Band Of Brothers in Blu-ray.

Awesome in every way picture sound features all in fantastic tin. This series has won loads of awards for good reason. For collectors absolutely essential.

An absolutely fantastic recreation of the trials of easy company and the 506th airborn as they journey from Normandy to Germany. Recommended for anyone and everyone, this series is a must see.

Follow the troops of 101st Airborne from when they parachute into Normandy all the way through the battle of the bulge and into Germany. Great story excellent characters and awesome acting. The action rarely stops only to let you thing on what these troops went through. Prepare a whole weekend to get engrossed and watch it all in one session. Not to be missed.

What a cracking deal for over 10 hours of engrossing war drama. If you have watched the series THE PACIFIC. You love this box set. Did not realise how many good actors are in this drama.The drama follows a company from the us army threw training to the end of the war, there is some fine acting from some top quality actors .
