The sheer wealth of extras included on this Blu-Ray set is astounding. The high definition picture quality is, on the whole crisp and clear, but there are a few parts where there is a noticeable grain. After seeing some of the many many extras, it would appear that the grain is a by-product of the speed of camera film used in the 60s when filming from helicopter. I would guess that if this grain were cleaned up, much of the incredible detail of the scenery would be lost. There are so many extras, spread across the two Blu-Ray discs, it should keep any fan happy for hours. I cannot offer an opinion on the 7.1 surround sound quality as I only have a stereo set up due to personal preference - to be honest, I find surround sound irritating - but given the attention to detail and the quality of the visuals, I would feel confident in stating this is probably superb as well.
