The stalker series remains one of the most immersive first person shooters on the market with an outstanding sense of depth bolstered by it's landscapes and varying weather cycles. Excellent AI makes for some extremely difficult (yet realistic) battles in a convincing environment that can be truly breathtaking. This is a recommended must with the added advantage of a well honed free modification market that allows you to ramp up the settings if you have a killer system and yet remains perfectly playable out of the box.

Great atmosphere and tension throughout, really nice graphics (once you install the free Complete mod!) and such a great variety of missions. If you enjoyed any of the Fallout games but are looking for something a little bit different, give Call of Pripyat a go - you'll never look back. It's totally immersive and I've never played anything like it. It'll challenge you, it'll scare you, but most of all it'll absorb you like nothing else you've ever played.
