Just Great!

This TPS is a very good game and the price here on Zavvi is a great deal. If you enjoy sci-fi stories or you have read some Asimov's books this game is a must have.

Very cool premise for a game and always glad when Sega is successful. I would love to see Sega publish another title in the 'Condemned' series because it's been a while and Condemned 2: Bloodshot is a great game. If you're contemplating buying Binary Domain, though, it's definitely worth picking up.

Better than advertised

Forget the reviews, this game is much better than advertised. Good story, good gameplay. Enjoyed it from start to finish.

Game tailored to the taste of science fiction fans and shooter, and one that deserves to be bought and played far more people than the 20-odd thousand in last March.

Binary Domain enters the shooter genre with solid gameplay and a focus on team comunication, either using pre made messages or using voice recognition. Visually, it excels on small details, especially the robots with lot of components in sight. Story-wise, the game takes players to a somewhat near future, with a lot of elements typical to other cyberpunk works. As a Nagoshi game, story and characters are important, but although the writing is solid, it isn't too complex, unlike Nagoshi's previous work on the Yakuza series. Important to note that actions during gameplay have some influence. Assisting and giving proper orders raises the trust level of the team towards the main character, and this changes a few events later in the game. Don't care about the team? Then they won't assist you or follow your orders when you need cover fire or help. Voice acting is generally good, mainly the main characters, and having NPCs talking japanese between themselves (the setting of the game is Japan) helps in the immersion department. However, when some NPCs talk to the main characters in english, these lines are clearly voiced by western actors faking an asian accent, making them sound horrible. Overall, Binary Domain is a great game and probably one of the best shooters around, with elements that are common for the genre, and with elements that only a few had until now, like voice recognition, upgrades on characters and weapons, and actions towards characters that influence trust levels and some events during the game. The main problem with the game is the lack of main story co-op, especially since it's squad based (but there is multiplayer).

Binary Domain is a nice game made by the producer of the Yakuza series with the same graphics. This is one for people that like games inspired by japanese anime.

Binary Domain is really a lot of fun. The story is reasonable, but the gameplay is quite good. While you may not have heard of this game before, I think it'd be unfortunate to overlook as most any first person shooter fan will enjoy it. I recommend any shooter fan to buy.

Binary Domain is a good, game although it's a bit short. There are a lot of different weapons and enemies, though. I didn't get chance to test the SpeechFX, but it seems like it could be very useful.

Binary Domain was split into things I liked and didn't like, for me. I liked the story, boss fights, and duration of the campaign, and I didn't like the robot design, their lack of personality, and the graphics, which weren't very good.
