What a fantastic and gripping drama. Really enjoyed this and what a great storyline. Really scary in bits too and a great cast of actors. Watched this with my husband and it had us both gripped from the beginning. Well done for making such a great drama and I look forward to more like this.

Having finished watching the last episode on ITV last night of Stephen Greenhorn's supernatural drama Marchlands I thought I should submit a review whilst it was fresh in my mind. This ghost story,(without revealing too much of the plot) follows three families from through the 60's , 80's and present day who all lived in the same remote village house. It all begins with the death of a little girl, Alice, and the strange experiences of subsequent families who reside here in this should-be idyllic spot and Alice's mother Ruths continuing search for the truth behind her little girls death. In all I really enjoyed this, the acting was excellent (it featuressuch class acts as Alex Kingston, Denis Lawson, Tessa Peake-Jones & Jodie Whittaker ) the script very good but it was let-down slightly by the ending - it just was a bit of an anti-climax ( I shan't say anymore as I don't want to spoil the plot). I would definitely recommend you to check this out, a very entertaining watch, despite the ending.

This is a story set in three different times, 1960s, 1980s and present day. It revolves around the death of a little girl, Alice, who has apparently drowned in an accident, but as time goes on, it becomes clear that something more sinister must have happened. The spirit of Alice is constantly laying out clues to the people living in Marchlands about what really happened. I am sure she could have made it clear from the first episode instead of leaving clues but hey thats the drama of it all. Love it.

Marchlands is an amazing series that has you on the edge of your seat as you try to piece all the different pieces of this story together. The action moves between '68, '87 and 2010 and three different couples giving glimpses into the three decades and three sets of lives as well as weaving together a carefully written narrative in the form of supernatural being Alice. The mystery is eventually resolved in the last episode, in an ending which will not shock but felt like the 'right' sensible answer. it genuinely is one of those series that you will want to watch again so this DVD set is a must! It truly is compelling viewing and i couldn't wait for the next episode to arrive on telly to try and piece more of the mystery together!

Any drama with a cast as good as this shouldn't really fail, and Marchlands certainly doesn't. Intriguing from the start, it cleverly weaves three different generations of the same house with the common theme, what really happened to a little girl found dead in 1967? I write this with the final episode still to come, so I can't wait to see if I guessed the ending! This is another great effort from ITV who have produced some quality television of late.

If you like your made for tv thrillers then this is for you.The series is based round 3 families who have all at one point or another have lived in the same house - Marchlands. The scenes chop and change from one era to the other but unlike many shows it manages to do this in a non confusing way. Some of the eerie scenes in this film are quite unsettling and the twist at the end is completely unexpected. Deffo worth a watch!

I loved this....i love anything spooky, anything spooky with children and i find it really scary!!. Its well written, very well cast and will make you jump in places. Its set in three time periods with three families all living in the same house..Marchlands. They are all linked by the ghost of a young girl called Alice. As the story unfolds and you find out what happened to Alice you'll be on the edge of your seat.

This is one of the best tv dramas i have seen in a long long time. Its gripping makes you want to come back for more. EXCELLENT

ive never watched a drama as intense and film like before. i absolutely loved this from episode 1, has a really spooky feel to it . set in 3 different time zones, the first is the family with the little girl 'alice' the second is a family who's little girl can see alice and the third time zone is now . with a new family , the husband has moved back to the town , after living there when he grew up . the wife is expecting a baby , which later found to be a girl and they name her alice and all the strange things the previous family experienced happens again. if you love dramas and anything a little paranormal you with love this!

A great drama though a bit slow to start. once you get your head around the hoping between the eras its great. Alice was a little girl and died threw drawning , but was it an accident ?. A drama with twists and turns and lots of angles to the story. a gripping story that made my heart pound. at first i was scared of Alice but even though that little girls a ghost your heart goes out to her. Well worth watching.
