Professor Layton: and The Miracle Mask is a great game. Now l understand what people were saying, 3D can only do it for so long but the graphics are good. Now l have the 3D version I will have more games to play. I've downloaded over 150 games to keep up to date. This will keep me and the wife busy on the golf course.

Solid puzzle adventure

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Fans of Professor Layton will know exactly what to expect from this Professor Layton: and The Miracle Mask, but newcomers won't have much trouble settling in either. A gentle blend of point-and-click adventure game mechanics interspersed with logic puzzles and riddles of all sorts, Miracle Mask is solid in all areas (except for the tinny, soulless music), but doesn't really excel in any way. The puzzles are mostly good without bringing anything new to the table at this point (it's the fifth game in the series, after all), the story lacks direction without ever getting annoying, and the enhanced 3D graphics look very pretty even as it's clear something was lost in the transition from two-dimensional illustrations. Still, there is plenty to do, and any puzzle fan is unlikely to be disappointed.

I wasn't sure about buying Professor Layton: and The Miracle Mask as I didn't have a 3DS, but I decided it was time for an upgrade and took the plunge. I'm over the moon with this game. The puzzles are engaging and offer hours of enjoyment. The 3D effects add a new dimension to the game.

Games are really good, daily puzzles are challenging but look simple. The new 3DS version is quite different to the previous Professor Laytons and it is an improvement. The 3d can be switched off or on which is good.

I bought this for my grandson's 3DS and he is enjoying it immensely. I also found Zavvi were the cheapest compared to other stores. Ordering online was extremely quick and efficient.

Thoroughly enjoyable

I very much enjoyed this game. The puzzles were inventive and entertaining. The new, animated art style was charming and worked very well in 3D. I also enjoyed the story and the characters. Plus having daily puzzles delivered to you is a wonderful way of extending the game. After having completed all 150 puzzles, mini games and collectables, I feel that my 40 hours playing were a pleasure and I look forward to purchasing the next instalment in the series.

The best yet and in 3D as well, and a puzzle every day for a year make this a must buy.

I purchased Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask for Nintendo DS. Ordering was quick and easy and the game arrived three days later. Would recommend Zavvi.com and would have no hesitation in ordering from them again.

Professor Layton: and The Miracle Mask is another excellent release in the Layton series. It offers terrific value with approximately 150 puzzles to solve. There is also a new puzzle to download every day for a year, for a total puzzle count in excess of 500. The 3D effect is used well throughout the game, not just in the puzzles. There are also the customary mini-games and post-game content to unlock which further enhances the longevity of the game. The graphics have been upgraded since the last release on the DS. The story is also interesting. The production values throughout the game are of a very high standard and I would thoroughly recommend this game to anyone.
