Batman: Under The Red Hood

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Usually I'm not much of a fan of animation, but I bought this thanks to a friend's recommendation. I was pleasantly surprised by this, as it's a moody, dark and thoughtful take on one of Batman's most iconic modern storylines - it captures the tone of the comics very well. The voice acting is for the most part very good, and Bruce Greenwood's Batman voice is almost as good as Kevin Conroy's. John DiMaggio holds his own as the Joker too, although I have no doubt it would've been even better with Mark Hamill. It's also nice to see a story that is so personal to Batman, as opposed to the usual attack on Gotham City scenario. Only negative is that occasionally the voice acting comes across as a little disjointed.
