I recently purchased this box set for my fiancée's birthday, after endless harping on about what a great series it was. I had never seen it, but it's excellent! Yes, it's campy, yes the acting is a lot hammy, and it shows it's 90s roots against more well-known 'Sci-Fi' shows of the time like the on-going 'Star Trek' franchise, 'Farscape' and even 'The X-Files'. However, what makes Lexx stand apart, is that it blatantly knows it is silly. It starts off with all serious intent, but as it progresses, you get the impression that everyone on board knew what it was, and treated it as such. This is in no way a derogatory statement, as the relaxed feel of the show and the blatant ham-acting makes it more of a warm show. Why get wrapped up in science and fact when you can just sit back, watch and enjoy? (Look out for appearances by Peter Blake (the late John Sullivan's brilliant 'Dear John' creation, Kirk St Moritz), as well as other stars that will have you "IMDB'ing" as the series moves on. All in all, 4 series, 19 discs and hours of classic 'Sci-Fi' fun!
